Zan News: The Taliban's Supreme Court has announced that four individuals, including two women and two men, were flogged in public for "illicit relations."
According to a statement released by the court on Tuesday (October 15), the flogging was carried out after being approved by the Supreme Court, based on the decision of the Taliban's primary court in Kabul.
The statement indicates that two of the accused were sentenced to two years in prison and 30 lashes, while the other two were sentenced to one year and six months in prison and 25 lashes.
It is noteworthy that since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, this group's courts have been holding public trials in most provinces, where men and women have been flogged or even executed on charges such as illicit relations, sodomy, and theft.
In the past three days, the Taliban have flogged 15 people, including two women, in the provinces of Kunar, Maidan Wardak, and Khost on similar charges.
The international community and human rights organizations have repeatedly criticized these actions by the Taliban, calling them clear violations of human rights. However, the Taliban claim that these punishments are carried out according to Islamic Sharia law and that human rights are respected in Afghanistan.
