Zan News: The Afghanistan Journalists Center has reported in a statement that following the Taliban's ban on broadcasting images of living beings, television activities in Badghis province have come to a halt.
According to the statement, both the Taliban-managed National Television and the private "Obor" TV in Badghis have ceased their activities.
The center added that the order to stop visual media activities was communicated to media officials and journalists by the Taliban's Directorate of Information and Culture in Badghis.
The Taliban in this province have stressed to the media and journalists that instead of broadcasting images of living beings, televisions should only display natural landscapes and pictures of buildings.
Following this restriction, radio stations have also limited their activity on social media platforms.
The Afghanistan Journalists Center has expressed concern over this Taliban decision and has called for its immediate reversal.
It is worth mentioning that Badghis is the third province, after Kandahar and Takhar, where visual media have ceased operations on the Taliban's orders.
This decision has been implemented based on the Taliban's law of promoting virtue and preventing vice, which prohibits the recording and broadcasting of images of living beings and considers it a crime. According to the Taliban, such images contradict Islamic Sharia.
