Zan News: The Taliban's Supreme Court has announced that in the Ghor province, three women and four men were publicly flogged by the group's forces.
In a statement issued today, Sunday (September 8), the Taliban's Supreme Court said these individuals were convicted of charges such as fleeing from home, adultery, and invasion of privacy.
The statement mentioned that the local Taliban court in Ghor found these individuals guilty and issued their punishments.
According to the statement, two of the defendants were sentenced to three years in prison and 39 lashes, two others to four years in prison and 39 lashes, one person to one year in prison and 39 lashes, and two others to four months in prison and 29 lashes each. The sentences were carried out after being confirmed by the Taliban's Supreme Court.
It is noteworthy that public flogging is one of the Taliban's punishment methods, repeatedly condemned by the international community. The group has frequently lashed both men and women publicly for various offenses and, in some cases, has executed individuals in public.
