Zan News: The Afghanistan Journalists Center says that the broadcasts of "National Television" in Takhar province have been suspended due to the Taliban's ban on airing images of live creatures. At the same time, sources have also reported the suspension of broadcasts by two private TV channels, "Mah-e-No" and "Reyhan," in this province.
On Monday (October 14), the Afghanistan Journalists Center released a statement saying that Habibullah Hanafi, the head of the Taliban's Department for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice in Takhar, emphasized during a meeting with media representatives and journalists on Sunday that the order to ban the broadcasting of live creature images must be enforced.
According to this statement, following this order, National Television in Takhar halted its activities, and two private channels, "Mah-e-No" and "Reyhan," decided not to broadcast any images of live creatures.
Additionally, according to a source in Takhar, the Taliban delegation sent to Takhar stated that the ban on broadcasting live creature images would first be implemented in the provinces of Kandahar, Helmand, and Takhar, and then gradually in other provinces.
It is worth noting that according to the Taliban's Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice law, the broadcast of live images is prohibited, and the group's officials are tasked with preventing the dissemination of such images in the media.
The spokesman for the Taliban's Ministry of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice also told Agence France-Presse yesterday that this order would be implemented gradually throughout the country.
Meanwhile, some Taliban departments themselves do not comply with this order and publish photos and videos of their meetings.
