Zan News: In a scientific conference titled "Assessing the Situation in Afghanistan," jointly organized by Jagiellonian University and the Polish Academy of Sciences, a group of Afghan and Polish researchers analyzed the current state of Afghanistan.
Mateusz Kłagisz, a professor from the Department of Iranian Studies at Jagiellonian University and one of the event organizers, stated that the purpose of the conference was to examine Afghanistan's current situation across various dimensions and its impacts on regional and global affairs. He added that the recent developments in Afghanistan require in-depth analysis and ongoing efforts, and that similar programs focused on Afghanistan will be held in the future.
Marcin Krzyżanowski, an Afghan affairs researcher, discussed Taliban governance in his speech. He referenced a book by Abdul Hakim Haqqani, the Taliban’s Chief Justice, describing it as an official document that reveals the Taliban’s perspective on government structure.
According to him, the Taliban have, in some respects, modeled their system on Iran’s Islamic Republic, though they avoid directly comparing themselves to it.
Bismillah Taban, a security issues researcher, spoke about Afghanistan's complex situation, widespread human rights violations, terrorism, and security threats. He stressed that Afghanistan has now become a hub for terrorist groups and a safe haven for the resurgence of organizations like Al-Qaeda.
Taban also criticized the Taliban's human rights abuses and their retaliation against former military personnel, describing these actions as part of their daily strategy. He stated, "The Taliban have truly turned Afghanistan into a prison for its people, especially for women."
He described the Taliban as a dangerous ideology that poses a threat to human society, aiming to spread and export terrorism globally. Taban added that the Taliban are working to unify their laws and religious and ethnic structures in a way that seeks to systematically eliminate vulnerable ethnic and religious groups, such as Hazaras, Hindus, and Sikhs, from society.
