Murder of a Woman and a Young Girl in Faryab

Zan News - Faryab: Local sources in Faryab say that a woman and a young girl have been killed in the Almar and Pashton Kot districts of the province.
In the first incident, a girl named Halima was killed by a Taliban member in the village of Chaghatak, Almar district, on the evening of Thursday, May 23rd.
It is said that the Taliban member was trying to shoot a dog as he was passing through the alley where Halima lived, but the bullet accidentally hit the 20-year-old girl.
Sources say that Halima was initially wounded in the incident, but died on the way to the hospital.
In the other incident, a woman named Farzana was killed by her half brother in the village of Alika, Pashton Kot district, on Thursday.
Farzana was 21 years old, had divorced her former husband, and was recently engaged to another man. The motive for the woman's murder is still unknown, and her half brother has fled the scene after the murder.
Local Taliban officials in Faryab have not yet commented on the murders.
It is worth noting that since the Taliban's return to power in Afghanistan, cases of women's murders have increased in various provinces of the country, including Faryab.
