Murder of a Couple in Faryab

According to Shamsullah Mohammadi, the Taliban’s head of information and culture in Faryab, the couple was shot dead on Saturday afternoon (December 21).

Mohammadi stated that the victims were Halima, a 25-year-old woman originally from the village of Ziaratgah, and Abdullah, her husband, a resident of the village of Burghan. The couple had been living in Rahmatabad Beshbala, Qaisar district.

He added that the suspect in the murder, identified as Maazullah, a resident of the village of Ziaratgah, fled the scene after the incident but was later arrested by Taliban forces.

The motive for the murder remains unclear.

It is worth noting that the rise in criminal incidents across the country has increased citizens' concerns. This murder marks the sixth similar case in Faryab province in just over a week.
