Maryam Nawaz: Depriving Afghan Girls of Education Is One of the Most Painful Forms of Injustice

Zan News: Maryam Nawaz, Chief Minister of Punjab province in Pakistan, described the deprivation of Afghan girls from education as one of the most painful manifestations of injustice during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
Speaking on Friday, April 11, at the fourth round of the "Antalya Diplomacy Forum" in Turkey, she said: "In Afghanistan, girls are deprived of education. In Palestine, children are buried under rubble. In Kashmir, children face discrimination and violence. In Sudan, children walk for kilometers to find food."
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that education is not limited to school curricula, calling it "a force for healing, a path to overcoming deprivation, and a tool for building a better world."
Her remarks come as, since the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan, girls have been banned from continuing their education in secondary schools, high schools, and universities—a decision that has sparked widespread global condemnation.
