Zan News: The “Kunduz Women’s Struggle Movement,” in response to the violent treatment of Afghan refugees by Iranian police, expressed their deep concern about the increasing violence and discriminatory treatment against Afghan refugees in Iran through a protest rally and a statement.
The statement from this movement reads: “As part of the global community and human rights defenders, we express our deep concern about the increasing violence and discriminatory treatment against Afghan refugees in Iran. These inhumane behaviors, which include insults, humiliation, physical violence, and continuous violation of their basic rights, are a clear violation of international human rights standards and are absolutely intolerable.”
The “Kunduz Women’s Struggle Movement” has called on the responsible authorities in Iran to immediately end these “illegal and inhumane” actions and ensure that all individuals, regardless of their nationality or immigration status, enjoy basic rights and human dignity.
Additionally, these protesting women have called on the international community to take immediate and effective actions to defend the rights of Afghan refugees and end the injustices. They emphasized that they will continue their protest until justice is established and the violence stops.
This protest comes amid recent reports of increased arrests and violent treatment of Afghan refugees by Iranian police.
