Zan News: The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development of Saudi Arabia, in its latest annual report, has announced a significant increase in women's participation in governance and a notable decrease in unemployment rates compared to previous years.
According to the report, which was released on Friday (3 January), in 2024, at least 43% of senior and mid-level positions in Saudi Arabia are managed by women.
The ministry also stated that in 2024, salaries have increased by up to 45%, and women's participation in the labor market has reached 35.8%, a figure that exceeds the projections made in the country's 10-year development plan.
The report further emphasized that the unemployment rate in Saudi Arabia has decreased to 3.3%, marking the lowest recorded level in the country. This reduction places Saudi Arabia fifth among the G20 countries in terms of the decrease in unemployment rates.
These achievements come at a time when, in Afghanistan, the Taliban, under the claim of implementing "Islamic law," have excluded women from all public life sectors.
After the Taliban's return to power in Afghanistan, girls above the sixth grade were banned from attending school, universities were closed to women, and recently, the education of girls in health institutes has also been banned. These actions have effectively completely blocked Afghan women and girls' access to formal education.
