Zan News: Human Rights Watch has said in a statement that the Norwegian government has a double approach on human rights issues.
The organization emphasized in its statement that the international legal order must be applied regardless of the society in which women live.
According to Human Rights Watch, the Norwegian government should support international law as firmly in the case of Afghanistan as it does in the Middle East, Ukraine, and other countries.
The organization added: "The Norwegian government has been at the forefront of promoting international law in many cases, but in reality, it seems that this country has a double approach towards the rights of Afghan women."
Human Rights Watch said that "when it comes to Afghanistan, where women are subjected to sexual harassment by the Taliban, Norway takes a more cautious stance. This country uses the word 'dialogue' instead of accountability when it comes to Afghanistan."
These remarks come as other international human rights organizations and some women's rights activists have previously criticized the approach of some countries towards the Taliban.
