Zan News: The Human Rights Activists Union has condemned the Taliban's execution order, describing it as a blatant violation of Islamic principles and international law.
In a statement released on Saturday (16 November), the union expressed its concern over the execution of a young man in Paktia province.
The union also welcomed the stance of the United Nations Human Rights Council regarding the practice of "Qisas" (retribution) in Afghanistan.
According to the union, the presence of Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Taliban's Interior Minister, during the execution highlights the Taliban's determination to continue their systematic crimes against the citizens of Afghanistan.
The union has urged the international community to not remain silent in the face of the Taliban's "crimes."
It should be noted that last week, the Taliban executed a young man in public in the center of Paktia province on charges of killing a former member of the group.
Richard Bennett, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Afghanistan, and the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) have condemned the Taliban's actions and called for the immediate cessation of such practices.
