Zan News: Nazira Khairzad, a former player of Afghanistan’s national women’s football team who left the country due to Taliban security threats, is now facing the risk of deportation from Germany to Italy.
According to published information, the German government, based on European Union immigration policies, has requested her return to Italy, the country where she was first registered. This is while Khairzad’s family is currently residing in Germany, and her deportation to Italy could result in the forced separation of family members.
Elke Gabsa, the family’s lawyer, has warned that this decision could lead to a violation of human rights and has urged judicial bodies to address her case to prevent the family from being separated.
It is worth noting that following the collapse of the republic and the Taliban’s return to power, thousands of women activists, athletes, journalists, and human rights defenders were forced to flee the country due to security threats and fear of retaliation. However, many of these asylum seekers now face legal challenges and the threat of deportation from host countries, especially in Europe.
