Zan News: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has announced that it has provided assistance to 15,000 women heads of households in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan this year.
In a statement published on X on Friday (October 18), FAO highlighted that the aid includes food supplies, distribution of poultry, vaccination services, and educational support.
The organization emphasized that women play a crucial role in ensuring food security for their families, noting that access to food for Afghan women has improved compared to the past.
This support comes at a time when, following the Taliban's takeover, women in Afghanistan have been deprived of the right to work, creating significant economic challenges for many families. Numerous women heads of households face serious difficulties in providing for their families due to the restrictions imposed by the Taliban.
