Zan News: The European Union (EU) delegation in Kabul has stated that educating girls is essential for Afghanistan's economic independence, improved well-being, and self-sufficiency, in observance of the International Day of Science for Peace and Development.
In a message on X, the EU delegation emphasized the necessity of "education for all" without discrimination or gender disparity.
The EU has urged the people of Afghanistan to use the power of knowledge collectively to achieve peace and development.
This comes as the Taliban, after returning to power, have banned girls' education beyond the sixth grade and imposed severe restrictions on women's rights. For over three years, girls above the sixth grade have not been allowed to attend school and are also barred from entering universities.
The Taliban's approach has been met with widespread domestic and international criticism, but no changes to this policy have yet been observed.
