Zan News - Kabul: Members of Afghanistan's civil society and human rights organizations have issued a statement on the third anniversary of the Taliban's takeover of the country, calling for the trial of the Taliban in international courts and forcing this group to accept the "will of the Afghan people".
The statement, published today, Wednesday (August 14), describes August 15 as "a shameful deal signed between the United States and the Taliban, which led to the surrender of Afghanistan to this terrorist group."
According to the statement, since taking control of Afghanistan, the Taliban have committed "widespread human rights violations," including depriving women of the right to education and work and systematically removing religious, ethnic, and linguistic minorities. These actions, the organizations argue, are examples of clear human rights and humanitarian violations in the country.
In their statement, Afghanistan's civil society and human rights organizations have called on the international community and regional countries to stop their support for this "terrorist group."
