Body of Five-Year-Old Girl Found in Rabat-e-Sangi District of Herat

Local sources say the child’s body was discovered on Tuesday, April 15, in the village of Baqarchar within the district.

The Taliban police command in Rabat-e-Sangi confirmed the incident, stating that during the transfer of the body, one woman and one man were arrested. According to the Taliban’s statement, a total of three members of a family—two women and one man—have been arrested in connection with the murder.

So far, the motive behind the killing has not been determined, and Taliban officials have not provided further details.

This comes amid numerous reports of women and children being killed in various parts of Afghanistan since the Taliban’s return to power—despite the group repeatedly claiming to have established “nationwide security.”
