Zan News

Zan News: International media have reported that Thailand's parliament has elected Paetongtarn Shinawatra, a 37-year-old woman, as the country's youngest prime minister.

According to Reuters, on Friday (August 16), this election took place just two days after the removal of Thailand's former Prime Minister, Srettha Thavisin.

Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the daughter of Thaksin Shinawatra, a billionaire and influential Thai politician, has become the second woman in the country's history to assume the position of prime minister.

However, Reuters noted that Shinawatra has no prior government experience.

This appointment comes at a time when Thailand is facing serious economic challenges.
