A Girl and Boy Killed in Nangarhar

According to sources, this incident occurred last night, Friday (September 27), in the village of Qala Shahi in the Darreh Noor district.

Sources say that the girl and boy were seen by the girl's family and were subsequently shot dead by the girl's brothers.

Sources also added that the bodies of the girl and boy were buried at night to prevent the matter from being further disclosed.

It is said that the girl was about 17 years old and the boy was about 19 years old.

So far, local Taliban officials in Nangarhar have not commented on the matter.

This comes as, with the Taliban's control over Afghanistan, relations between men and women in the country are heavily controlled and any relationship outside of marriage can be considered an "illicit relationship," which often carries severe and deadly penalties.
