700 Children Die in Nangarhar Due to Malnutrition

September 11, 2024

Zan News

Zan News - Nangarhar: Local sources in Nangarhar province report that 700 children have died from malnutrition in the past six months in this province.

According to the sources, these children passed away in Nangarhar Provincial Hospital.

Sources indicate that the special section for malnutrition patients in this hospital no longer has the capacity to accept new patients, and the lack of facilities has led to an increase in the death rate of children suffering from malnutrition in Nangarhar.

The Taliban's Directorate of Public Health has not yet commented on the matter.

This comes after the World Health Organization (WHO) had previously warned about the rising death toll among children suffering from malnutrition in Afghanistan.
