Zan News: Local sources in Khost province have reported that the Taliban have arrested and imprisoned at least 20 women for not adhering to the group’s dress code from a women’s market in this province.

Sources said on Tuesday (September 24) that these women have been in Taliban prison for two weeks, and there is no information about their fate so far.

According to the sources, the arrested women, some of whom were vendors at this women’s market, are residents of Khost city center and Zazi Maidan district.

Local Taliban officials in Khost have not yet commented on this matter.

It is said that this women’s market was built by the Khost municipality during the previous government, and only female vendors and buyers are allowed to enter it.

Over the past three years, the Taliban have arrested many girls and women across the country for not adhering to their dress code. Previously, there were also reports of dozens of women being arrested by this group in Kabul.
