The Women's History Transformation Movement Calls for Decisive Action to Support Women's Rights in Afghanistan

Zan News: The Women's History Transformation Movement of Afghanistan has issued a resolution calling on the international community and human rights organizations to take decisive actions to support and protect women's rights in Afghanistan.

The resolution, recently published, states: "Under the oppressive and tyrannical Taliban regime, Afghan women have been systematically excluded from all social, political, and cultural spheres. This blatant and ruthless violation of fundamental rights has marginalized women and silenced their voices."

According to the resolution, the Taliban have closed the doors of schools and universities to girls for the third consecutive year and conducted university entrance exams (Kankor) without any female participants. These "inhumane actions have destroyed the educational and professional future of girls."

The resolution highlights the increase in insecurity and economic poverty under Taliban rule, noting that insecurity, economic poverty, domestic violence, and forced marriages have peaked for Afghan women, with no defensive or oversight institutions available to support them, leaving them defenseless.

The movement states that "by silencing the voice of free expression, the Taliban have imprisoned civil activists, university professors, and intellectuals, severely weakening civil society's efforts to resist and defend women's rights."

The resolution calls the recent remarks by the chargé d'affaires of the U.S. Embassy, claiming that the Taliban told the world in Doha that the situation in Afghanistan is as the people wanted it, "disappointing and unacceptable."

The movement urges the United Nations, human rights organizations, regional and global countries to "not remain passive in the face of this horrific situation. The Taliban should not receive any financial or political support, and their leaders should be blacklisted internationally as a terrorist group and violators of human and women's rights. Additionally, the monthly financial transfers from the U.S. to the Taliban should be halted."

The Women's History Transformation Movement of Afghanistan also calls on the international community and human rights organizations to urgently and seriously address the situation of Afghan women and take necessary actions to protect their rights. The movement believes that "with solidarity and collective efforts, this horrific situation can be ended, and a brighter and more humane future for Afghan women and people can be achieved."
