Human Rights Watch: Taliban Abuses the Rights of Afghan Women and Girls

July 27, 2024

Zan News

Zan News: As the 2024 Paris Olympic Games commence, Human Rights Watch has once again highlighted the severe restrictions imposed by the Taliban on women and girls in Afghanistan.

On Saturday (27 July), the organization posted on its X page that the Taliban are abusing the rights of Afghan women and girls.

Human Rights Watch stated, "With the start of the Paris Olympics, millions of women and girls in Afghanistan are deprived of their right to education and sports."

The organization emphasized that the Taliban must end these abuses and lift the restrictions on the basic rights of women and girls.

These statements come as the Paris 2024 Olympic Games began yesterday, and the torch was carried by two female Afghan athletes.

It is worth noting that over the past three years, the Taliban have imposed numerous restrictions on women and girls in various fields, including sports.
