Zan News: The fourth round of the Vienna session on Afghanistan commenced today, Monday (June 24), in Vienna, the capital of Austria, with the presence of anti-Taliban political, military movements, civil and human rights activists.

During this three-day session, dozens of leaders and representatives from anti-Taliban fronts are participating, including Ahmad Massoud, leader of the National Resistance Front, Rangin Dadfar Spanta, former Afghan Foreign Minister, and Younis Qanuni, a founding member of the National Resistance Council for the Salvation of Afghanistan.

According to information, on the first day of this session, preliminary discussions will focus on topics such as Afghanistan's political outlook, international relations, regional implications, and an economic roadmap for the country.

A knowledgeable source among the session participants stated that political and military movements from Afghanistan are expected to work on a practical mechanism for transitioning the country to a democratic state during this session.

Another participant in the Vienna session, who requested anonymity, emphasized that "creating an executive mechanism for engaging with the world and presenting an alternative framework for transitioning Afghanistan from its current state to a democratic one" will be put to a vote in the current meeting.

They also stated that participants will stress that "global engagement and normalization of the Taliban is a strategic mistake. The world must pay attention to the legitimate and democratic demands of the Afghan people and recognize these demands."

It is worth noting that at this session, at least 70 participants from 40 organizations, parties, political, military, and civil movements, as well as independent cultural and political figures and media representatives, are present.

It is expected that another part of the agenda of this session will address the third Doha meeting and the absence of political, human rights, and women's movements in that meeting.

This session is being held as the third Doha meeting with the participation of the Taliban in Qatar is scheduled to take place by the end of this month.

Participants of the Vienna session had previously condemned the Taliban's presence in the upcoming Doha meeting and the absence of various Afghan parties, including women.
